A YA novel about searching for answers, love, and your eccentric grandma in all the wrong places.
Following in the footsteps of her überfamous grandma, eighteen-year-old Evie Jones is poised to be Hollywood’s next big star. That is until a close friend’s betrayal leads to her being blacklisted . . .
Fortunately, Evie knows just the thing to save her floundering career: a public appearance with America’s most beloved actress—her grandma Gigi, aka the Evelyn Conaway. The only problem? Gigi is a recluse who’s been out of the limelight for almost twenty years. Days before Evie plans to present her grandma with an honorary award in front of Hollywood’s elite, Gigi does the unthinkable: she disappears.
With time running out and her comeback on the line, Evie reluctantly enlists the help of the last person to see Gigi before she vanished: Milo Williams, a cute musician Evie isn’t sure she can trust. As Evie and Milo conduct a wild manhunt across New York City, romance and adventure abound while Evie makes some surprising discoveries about her grandma—and herself.

Now That I’ve Found You is the perfect summer read! An adventure throughout New York City, a kind and cool romantic lead, fashion, movies, and a band. The novel is fun without sacrificing important discussions about self worth, friendships, and family.
Forest’s writing style is straightforward and easy to follow. The pacing of Now That I’ve Found You is pretty smooth, quick, and will keep readers entertained to the very end. I enjoyed the progression of the story because it was multifaceted and covered a range of topics. There was a physical adventure as well as an emotional one of self-discovery and finding your place within the world. I loved how the author made it a point to describe what each character was wearing because it helped envision them better and gave an insight into what kind of character they were.
Now for the characters! I loved all of them honestly. I felt for Evie and her friendship breakup, we’ve all been there and it truly sucks. I didn’t always agree with her choices, but I could see where they stemmed from and why she chose those courses of action. Milo was probably my favorite out of the two. What can I say? I just love reading about boys who are kind. He was so cool; he’s in a band and writes songs, and has great friends. I think Evie and Milo complimented each other very well and it was great to see their relationship develop.
My absolute favorite aspect of the novel (besides all the fashion mentioned) was the depiction of Evie and Gigi’s relationship. That bit in the synopsis was what drew me to the novel. The YA I’ve read in the past usually excludes familial bonds from the narrative, but not Now That I’ve Found You. The novel puts this relationship front and center with Evie’s character growth being very dependent on this relationship. I just hadn’t read a contemporary as such and I’m so glad this relationship was showcased hand in hand with the romantic one.
Now That I’ve Found You made me want to visit New York and go to Pommes Frites. Also, gave me major fashion inspiration! I’m not kidding the outfits described are so cute. However, at it’s core Now That I’ve Found You is a great story about finding yourself and knowing your self-worth. A cute and adventure filled Rom-Com with the best eccentric grandma.
I had a lot of fun reading this novel and I can’t wait for everyone to read it!
